They started the journey together.

Same dream.
Same agent.
Same prayer points at midnight.

He sold his phone.
Topped up her fees.

No explanation.
No closure.
No forwarding address.

He found out from someone else:
She had a new man.
A night-shift worker in the U.S. 🇺🇸
They met in a Telegram group for Africans abroad.
She posts him every Sunday bubble tea and brunch dates in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile…

He’s still here.
Still repaying the loan he borrowed for her fees.
Still running a POS kiosk in Surulere.
Still looking at her old voice notes.
Still wondering if love was ever real or just part of her relocation plan.
